Personal Insurance
As an added bonus, several private insurance firms provide home health care services. Your carrier will be contacted to determine the perks offered.
Medicare
For those who are 65 years of age or older, as well as some disabled individuals under 65, Medicare is a federal health insurance program. For a brief period of time, it offers care and support services to those who require home health care. Home health aides are provided to customers by a number of Certified Home Care Agencies (CHHAs) under contracts with CHC.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a medical assistance program for low-income people of all ages who fall within the qualifying requirements and are unable to pay for care. The services it covers are determined by federal and state legislation, and it is funded by federal, state, and local resources. For services provided under the Medicaid Personal Care and Private Duty Nursing Programs, CHC has agreements with the social services departments of Orange County and Rockland County.
Long Term Home Health Care Program(LTHHCPs)
The Long Term Home Health Care program, sometimes known as Nursing Home Without Walls, works under a particular federal Medicaid waiver. It could be based in a nursing home or be a CHHA component. The program provides health care and support services to people with disabilities and chronic illnesses who are medically qualified for nursing home maintenance but prefer to remain at home. Personal care aides are provided to clients of CHC through contracts with a number of LTHHCPs.
MLTC, or managed long-term care
To better meet their requirements and avert or postpone the placement of persons with chronic illnesses or disabilities in nursing homes, MLTC offers health and long-term care services. Nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, medical equipment and supplies, podiatry, dental, optometry, respiratory therapy, transportation, and social day care are just a few of the services offered. Medicaid beneficiaries who qualify for nursing home admission are eligible for this program. Several MLTCs that provide personal care assistants are under contract with CHC.
Service
The Administration on Aging and the county offices for the elderly in New York provide some funding for the services. Contributions, which are anonymous and optional, are put to use to increase the scope of the services that have already been provided. Because of their incapacity or unwillingness to make a contribution, no one shall be refused services. Participants who self-report income at or above 185% of the Federal Poverty Level should receive suggested contributions that are equal to the cost of the service.
Private Pay
If no options for third-party payment are available, the customer pays directly for the home health care services. To learn more, get in touch with us.
